As a mental health counsellor, Beverley’s areas of expertise include a sound understanding of depression, anxiety and stress. If her clients feel that they are struggling with life’s load, Beverley offers a non-judgmental approach and empathic presence that enables them to explore their issues according to their individual needs. She draws on an integrative model, which allows her to use the benefits of person-centred, solutioned-focused, and self-psychology theoretical approaches. These approaches are practical in helping clients manage problems, develop self-awareness, and achieve insight into present problems. By drawing on her professional background, Beverley has gained considerable knowledge from working with adult clients who experience common mental health conditions. Some of these clients have been victims of domestic violence and adult survivors of child sexual abuse. Additionally, as a keyworker, she has worked with people who endured mental illness, social housing difficulties and have been deemed as psychologically vulnerable or at risk of social isolation. Beverley carries the ability to support her clients to build their coping strategies, resilience, and self-esteem. Beverley holds a Psychology BSc (Hon) degree, a PgDip in Psychology of Education degree and is currently working towards her Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. She is a member of the BACP and BPS, and she has recently worked with the NHS Wandsworth service for The Awareness Centre.
